Daniel Westlake is a PhD candidate in political science at the University of British Columbia and a Fellow of the Institute for European Studies. Daniel’s research focuses on multiculturalism policies and political parties, examining the role that parties play in the development of multiculturalism. Additionally, it looks at the competing pressures that parties face from nationalist parties and ethnic minorities when developing positions on multiculturalism. His work makes use of both qualitative and quantitative methods comparing states across Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand.
