Grace Lore is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of British Columbia and a Fellow of the Institute of the European Studies. Grace’s research incorporates a new institutionalist perspective into the study of the relationship between women’s descriptive and substantive political representation. She is interested in using cross-country and cross-institutional comparison towards the creation of a more nuanced and complex understanding of the dynamics of women’s political representation. In the next year, Grace will be taking her family to Brussels for several months to interview women representatives across European capitals. Her research has been funded by a SSHRC Canadian Graduate Scholarship since 2012. Grace is a graduate of the undergraduate Political Science Honours Program at UBC and completed her Master’s in Gender and Social Policy at the London School of Economics before returning to UBC in 2011.
